Fast FrameBefore angels became a hot design element, we
put a 14' classic Michelangelo angel on the side of this West Hollywood frame
shop.
The angel is hand carved urethane foam over a
steel framework. The sculpture was then fiber glassed and painted.
In addition to the angel and frame, the facade
got a custom paint job using ragged sienna over an ochre base.
We used here, like all of our paint finishes,
an extremely durable water based catalyzed acrylic paint. I have found these
finishes to look as though they were painted yesterday, even though some of
these finishes are over a decade old (as of 2003)
