BarThe Spike
was a
popular landmark bar that was in desperate need of a makeover. The
management hired a wonderful artist Marco Ortiz to come up with a new look.
So in collaboration with Marco, we all came up the idea of copper "drapes".
The drapes themselves are fiberglass fabric coated with resin and painted
with a copper metallic finish and "oxidized" with a blue spray paint glaze. |
The sign itself was an insanely complicated plywood structure coated with
resin and sprayed with silver metallic paints. The whole thing was floated
off the wall and over the drapes. |
