 For
most of 2006, I had this weird obsession with electrical transmission towers. My
studio is located in an industrial part of town, and I'm surrounded by hundreds
of these steel structures. They always struck me as having a somewhat
anthropomorphic quality that fascinated me. So I messed with some models and
came up with one that seemed to want to dance. I really was trying to be
serious, but this dancing form just kept emerging in the preliminary work, so I
just surrendered to it played it up with this fun piece. |
